Would you like to stop it getting worse AND avoid surgery?

Does any of this sound like you?

  • You are in pain and not sure what to do or who to ask?
  • You are frustrated that your bunion pain hasn't improved with expensive insoles?
  • You are finding the pain is starting to limit your activity levels and get you down?
  • You have been told that because bunions run in your family, nothing can be done?
  • You just want to get back to normal and do the things you love?
  • You are taking painkillers and would like to stop?
  • You have been told that surgery is the only option and this really worries you?
  • You are self conscious about the appearance of your feet and worry that you'll end up having to wear "granny Shoes"?

Here at Foot Focus Podiatry, our highly experienced team are dedicated to serving the local community in Finglas and surrounding areas, helping people just like you get back to doing the things you love, without pain or restriction.

What Causes Bunions?

A combination of the following factors contributes to the onset of bunions:

#1 Genes

Unfortunately bunions are hereditary, meaning they do run in families.

The foot types, shape and structure is dictated by our genes and some foot types, such as flat feet, are more prone to developing bunions than others.

#2 Footwear

Wearing high heels, pointy shoes or simply poor fitting shoes, can all contribute to bunion developing.

The footwear you wear has even more of an impact if you have low arches or hyper-mobile (very flexible) joints in your feet.

This can make a big difference if you are struggling with knee or hip arthritis, making walking easier and less painful.

Step 1 - Detailed Gait Assessment

Our knowledgable and experienced therapists will carry out a thorough and detailed assessment of your gait / the way you walk. This enables us to see precisely what factors are causing your bunions and also how your bunion is affecting the way your foot moves when you walk.
